Mr. Alex Zhou is a Partner at Qiming Venture Partners. Alex is an experienced technologist and company-builder.
Alex focuses on investments in frontier technologies (such as artificial intelligence, robotics, autonomous driving), enterprise software, semiconductor, autotech, etc. Alex has worked as board director/observer with entrepreneurs at unicorn companies - UBTech, Birentech, ROX Motor, Viewtrix, Unisound, and Tongdun Technology – and other high growth startups such as Roborock (SHSE: 688169), Mech-Mind, Yunji Technology, Axera, Houmo.ai, HyperStrong, Chaitin (acquired by Alibaba), IDsManager (acquired by Alibaba), TigerGraph, XSKY, Sequoia DB, Transwarp, NVXClouds, Shenzhen DST, Frontis, etc.
Prior to Qiming, Alex worked for KPCB (Kleiner Perkins). Before beginning his investment career, Alex worked for HP (Hewlett-Packard) and oversaw the company's data storage business unit in China. Alex also co-founded a big data startup company.
Alex was recognized as the Top 10 Best Technology Investors by Huxiu.com, the Top 10 Artificial Intelligence Investors by Securities Times, and the Top 20 Semiconductor Investors by 36Kr in 2021.
Alex holds an M.B.A. degree in Finance and Entrepreneurship from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Harbin Institute of Technology.
Alex is currently serving as a member of the Industry Advisory Committee of the Beijing Stock Exchange. He is also on the management committee of China Rural Revitalization Entrepreneur Support Program, which is jointly initiated by Qiming Venture Partners and China Foundation for Rural Development, a project committed to training and empowering rural industrial entrepreneurs and social enterprise entrepreneurs.
